The United States currently is located in the fourteenth standing spot and is preparing to take on a challenging team from England that sits in the eighth ranking spot. This fascinating game is going to take place on June 12, 2010 and it is a much-anticipated 2010 FIFA World Cup opener. The United States just recently left their humid training camp in the U.S. for cooler temps and higher altitudes in South Africa. This is the youngest World Cup group for the USA since the 94′ World Cup.

Eighth positioned England is preparing to match against the U.S. in their World Cup opener at the Rustenburg’s Royal Bafokeng Stadium. Right after missing out on placing in the UEFA Euro 2008, England was able to impressively make a come-back and also qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Some of the star players for England are Rooney from Manchester United, two midfielders Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe whom also add scoring help. England has made an appearance in eleven World Cup competitions.

Another team that was extremely remarkable in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup has been Spain. Their persistence for short-passing soccer has brought them a solid streak of wins, despite the new faces they continue to bring on board. Spain has amazing talent and depth and therefore are a force to be reckoned with when the 2010 World Cup starts. Spain will square up against Switzerland on June 16.
